Fighting for Air: Reducing the Burden of COPD Through Policy
November 20, 2024 | 12-1pm ET
November 20 is World COPD Day. Join the COPD Action Alliance on this day for a Capitol Hill Briefing focused on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) – a debilitating disease that ranks as the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. While approximately 30 million Americans are affected, only 17 million have been diagnosed.
The panel of experts will shed light on education gaps, barriers to treatment and awareness challenges surrounding COPD. They’ll discuss its disproportionate impact on specific populations such as veterans, rural communities, older adults and smokers.
This briefing will provide valuable insights into the evolving landscape of COPD.
In recognition of COPD Awareness Month in November, you’ll also hear from patient advocates who are at the forefront of the fight against COPD.
